Rie akwụkwọ nri gị!  – “Eat your vegetables!”

  • Rie – eat
  • akwụkwọ nri – vegetables
  • gị – your

 Ose ọ dị nnukwu na jollof osikapa? – “Is their too much pepper in the jollof rice? (Is it spicy?)”

  • ose – pepper
  • jollof osikapa – jollof rice
  • nnukwu – big/a lot

A naghi m eri anụ ehi. – “I don’t eat beef.”

  • m – I
  • naghi…eri – don’t eat
  • anụ ehi – beef

Mmanụ añụ a na-ato ụtọ nke ukwu.

 – “The honey is very sweet.”

  • mmanụ añụ -honey
  • very -nke ukwu
  • is sweet – na-ato ụtọ

Ñ nkwu enu! – “Drink some palm wine!”

  • Ñụọ – drink
  • nkwu enu -palm wine
