Adverbs are words used to talk about when, how, or where an action ( verb, adjective, or another adverb) happened. Study the words below to learn more about adverbs in the Igbo language.

almost – kwa / gom / ọfọdụ ntakiri

always – mbge niile

badly – ojo

here – ebe-a

immediately – ozugbo-ozugbo / kita kita

never – ma ncha / ncha ncha

now – ugbu-a / kita

only – nanị

quickly – ọsịsọ / ngwa-ngwa

rarely – tara akpụ

sometimes – mgbe ụfọdụ

soon – mgbe n’adịghị anya /  ngwa-ngwa

slowly – nwayọ / nwayọ nwayọ

there – ebe-ahu

today – taa / tata

together – ọnụ / jikota ọnụ

tomorrow – echi

tonight – abani tata

usually – mgbe n’ine / ọtụtụ mgbe

very – ọfụma / di / rie nne

well – mma

yesterday – ụnyaahụ / echi gara aga
